The UK is facing drastic economical deficits and drastic changes including many major businesses leaving the UK for more favourable ‘investable’ countries. Recent exits include the major energy giants BP, Shell, and Hunting.
That means less money for government tax, less money for benefits, less money for pensions and therefore the pension pots are dwindling day by day.
Many mums have pension gaps due to being penalised for raising a family, meanwhile the retirement age is constantly being increased.
Budgets have been tightened.
Business ownership is the way of the world now and more women than men are start ups today.
Although the biggest stumbling block for single mums is the cost of CHILDCARE, as opposed to single mums’ unwillingness to work, single mums nevertheless need to find other ways to be self sufficient outside of the benefits system.
